“Globalisation” is one the most popular terms used in the modern day world which is affecting every aspect of human life including economic, social, political, cultural, educational and so on. With the advent of science and technology, the process of globalisation has been increasing very rapidly that the whole world has now become a ‘global village’ where the concept of ‘world citizenship’ has emerged. Though globalisation has touched almost every aspect of our life, but globalisation of education particularly higher education assumes a special place in today’s world because a Nation can progress only when its manpower resources are well qualified, well trained and skill oriented. In this respect, globalisation helps a Nation to keep its system of education up-to-date by helping it to cope up with the changing demand of the world. In this paper, attempts have been made to highlight the concept of globalisation and its impact on higher education in India.
