Abstract

This paper proposes design and comparative analysis of 4.4 GHz Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA). In the design,patches are mounted on Arlon AD270 ™ substrate having dielectric permittivity 2.7. 2 * 4 Circular array MPA is designed using coaxial probe feeding technique where as Rectangular and Circular array Patch antennas are designed using edge feeding technique. A comparative performance analysis between S11,VSWR,Half Power Beam Width(HPBW) and Beam width between first nulls(BWFN) have projected. It has been found that Circular patch performs better than Rectangular patch by considering single patch where as 2*4 circular array performs better compare to 1 * 2 and 1 * 4 array antenna. High Frequency Structure Simulation (HFSS) taken as simulation tool to design and analyze antenna performance
